Why Buy Soy Candles?

As a candle lover and creator I wanted to share these tidbits about the benefits of soy candles and why I use it for my candles.

There are many benefits to burning soy candles and here are a few:

  1. Soy is natural! It is non-toxic, non-hazardous and completely biodegradable. Soy is derived from vegetables, which is a natural renewable source. It allows us to use something from the Earth; which in turn supports American farmers. This is the number one reason I use it for 99% of all of my candles. Only 1% of my candles use gel and that is solely because I like the transparent look it gives to the "Essence of Love" candle.
  2. Soy is clean! What I mean by clean is that it burns clean (smoothly/evenly), it does not emit black soot into the air (or around the glassware) and cleans up easier. Because they burn clean, it is easier for craters like myself or candle lovers to reuse the glassware (which is another way to be GREEN).  Soy washes away with soap and hot water; unlike other waxes that leave buildup or require harsh cleaners and tools to clear away wax drippings. I love soy wax because it does not emit black smoke which is great for those with allergies and asthma like myself. Plus, the soot is difficult to clean off of your glassware, if you choose to reuse it for another candle or decor piece around the house.
  3. Soy is cost effective! "You may be shocked by this point, but in many cases soy wax candles can be more cost effective than paraffin. Not only in quality, but in quantity too. Soy not only burns cleaner, but slower too. A soy candle can burn up to twice as long (sometimes even more!) than paraffin, giving you twice the candle" (Prairie Soy Candles)
  4. Soy comes in flakes! This may mean nothing to the consumer but for the crafter, I LOVE the fact that soy comes in loose flakes. It makes it easier to measure so that I'm using exactly what I need. Waxes such as paraffin and beeswax typically come in large bars/slabs and can be difficult to break apart. With soy, I am able to measure what I need for the creation and store it away. It keeps longer and is easier to clean up.
Hopefully, after this post you will have a better understanding of why soy wax is the best wax for your candles. I love it and it goes perfectly with my promise to provide "Naturally Perfect" creations to you.
